Next Art Attack Friday is December 4, 2009! Click for details.
The first Friday of each month participating businesses will stay open until at least 9 PM and host individual events featuring live music and art.
Small business owners have banded together to bring a bit of cheer, art and hopefully sales to Solano Avenue. What started with a few small business owners brainstorming ideas to get through these tough economic times has become a grassroots effort to support community, creativity and commerce.
This is our community. Solano Avenue is our main street. Please come support the small independent businesses. Enjoy an evening of art and come see the products and services these businesses offer.
How to participate:
For local residents or out-of-town guests:
- We have plenty of on-street parking on Solano Avenue.
- Just follow the red lights to a participating merchant.
- Pick up a program/map at any of the participating businesses and make your way down (or up) the Avenue.
- Have good time.
For Local Businesses:
The goal of Art Attack is to bring positive energy to the Solano Avenue business area through art.
- Contact one of the participating business owners and let them know you want to participate. The cost will vary each month depending on the number of participating merchants. The cost will cover the advertising for the event.
- Stay open to at least 9pm on the First Friday of each month
- String red rope lights (which can be purchased at your local ACE Hardware) and put them up that evening so people can identify you.
- Host a special event the evening of First Friday such as showcasing a local artist or musician.
- Have the Art Attack Program/Map available at your location and on your website if possible.
- Tell your customers about your event and the other merchants on the map.
For Local Artist:
- Contact one of the participating business owners and let them know you want to participate.
